In this article, we will explore the origins of the early-rising narrative and how it is rooted in white supremacy, contributing to the perpetuation of racial inequalities.
Lots of native Americans went to sleep close after sunset, and woke before sunrise.

So we should just get rid of standard work hours? Because that's what you're advocating.

Perhaps your lawyer should wake up at 10:00 and schedule your appointment for 6pm?

it places the blame for economic disparities on the individual,

99% of societies problems today are rooted in the lack of personal responsibility

In fact, our crime rate would plummet if individual communities would look inward instead of for somewhere else to blame. Hell even something as sacred as child bearing is destroyed by women who want to absolve themselves of personal responsibility.

This created a false narrative that Africans were inherently lazy

No, the narrative existed because Sub-Saharan Africans were lazy.

I did a project once, that was destined for Nigeria, and some Nigerian customers spent a lot of time here watching over the build (BTW, mostly watching white people build their stuff). One was a great, kid man named Austin.

We witnessed a generator FAT in Wisconsin during winter and he said, "How did humans survive here during winter, before modern comforts and technology? In Africa, when they were hungry they could just pick fruit off of a tree. What did they do here?"

Of course, the answer was, "They worked their asses off and planned." That's why they became smarter, thriftier and more industrious.

We basically already have. The "8-5" doesn't exist anymore by and large. The only thing that really ties "standard hours" currently is the market and banks. If you work with anyone not within your timezone ther are no "standard hours".

Because the time of the day you get things done doesn't change whether or not it is productive?

So you don't have a real job?

Correct. So how do you have a collaborative meeting across different time zones if we must wait for you to wake up?

This is true because the idea of waking up early to be productive was first ever considered in the human mind with the advent of the European slave trade in Africa.

Is that meeting more productive at 8 am than at 10 am?

This doesn't really prove any point other than it is so engrained in us that you have to get up early to be productive, that it is all how anyone operates.

Pretty hard to get a field plowed if you don't wake up until 11:00

No.

Standard hours exist for a reason.

Ya, there are. I deal with people across the globe. All our meetings are coordinated to be within our standard work hours on each side.
