To be fair, he probably catches a fine, maybe some community service and probation. I’d assume a year in jail is for incidents that are either more aggressive, or re-occurring.
Though let’s be real, damn near falling out of the booth to get a handful is pretty far across the line. This wasn’t dancing on the edge of normal, or misunderstanding. it was a low grade assault.

I think if they were to put him in the public square, tie him down and let her give him about 10 strokes with a modified boat paddle, then tase him, it would all be even.
