Could you phrase that better? Do I think women get pregnant to get paid leave? No.
It doesn't change the fact that men tend to be more reliable and less likely to miss work, thus more dependable which leads to more money.

I'm just trying to explain to you that even though a 12 weeks leave may be legally available to me it's not really available unless you have a shitty job.

Well I honestly don't pay attention to what my sick days are because I have never come close to exceeding them. Only time I took a sick day in the past few years was when I had the flu and was contagious.

i'm confused about this as well. when my wife had our baby about seven years ago I had to take 2 days of PTO.
One of my female friends working for the same company got 6 paid weeks off and didn't have to take a single day of vacation.
I know it's not like that everywhere, but that's the case, give or take a week, everywhere i know.

Some companies may give a little paid leave to women, but it not guaranteed.

Paternity leave is a progressive thing. Large law firms and more progressive companies do it, but acting like it is the norm is dishonest.
All other things equal, men are a better long term investment than women. I'd actually argue that women may be a better short term investment, at least anecdotally. Most women work harder and act more responsibly in their initial terms of employment than men, in my experience (in professional jobs). But, in time more than 50% leave high stress positions, often permanently. This is not an argument I'd want to take in a legal matter, but I think it is ethically sound.

Then what in the hell does this mean?
I assume all employees includes men. Since men get zero paid leave for maternity, I would say that women do in fact get extra paid leave for maternity.
