You think it’s the facility that’s the problem?
Absolutely. EBR desperately needs a new jail and a new juvenile detention facility. Ideally, they could combine the two facilities into one. Either way, they have to get those built.

they probably live streamed the escape on FB and will still take two weeks to catch.

Is the woman actually the front runner? Myron Daniels had it in the bag until this recent bad publicity.

I have followed that. It’s always the white man is trying to get us. Nevermind the mfker literally didn’t have the correct permits.

The thug mayor, who has yet to even acknowledge that group keep tiger town beautiful, headed up by a white woman, who collects litter every single day in this shite hole, is about to appoint a woman who has absolutely no business being a police chief, to continue the path of destruction which was started by the current police chief.
Sharon Douglas is her name. She is the Sgt over the training academy. I bet she won’t last 3 years.

After the first escape, East Baton Rouge prosecutors asked for Atkins to be transferred to a more secure facility, the Advocate reported. However, their motion was not ruled on prior to Saturday night’s breakout.
Judge needed more time to think about it.

Just think about it. You live on Hoo Shoo Too Road, about as far outside of the city as you can get to the south, and your taxes pay for the Baton Rouge City Police and the CATS bus dumpster fire, neither of which serve your area.
Dude if you’re going to use facts to support your arguments at least have your facts straight. CATS is funded by property taxes for those living in the city limits of BR and Baker. Therefore, someone living on Hoo Shoo Too road does not pay taxes towards CATS unless they have property in the city limits of BR or Baker. Additionally, if you look at the CATS route map you will see that they do have routes that go through SE BR even though the residents there do not contribute tax money to CATS.
I say this as someone who has to pay the CATS tax despite voting against it twice and can’t stand the CATS system, the current mayor, or her political cronies.
If you want change convince your friends in SEBR to get out and vote at a much greater % than those that live in the city limits.

When taxes were reassessed in East Baton Rouge, this resulted in an increased value to taxable property in the city of Baton Rouge and the city of Baker.

She won’t last a year if we can get a formidable candidate to challenge Sharon next year.

Is the Juvy detention like a dormitory
Back in the 2000's several NGO's and the DOJ filed suit against the State and its juvenile justice system. They have done this in several other sates with the goal of ending Juvenile incarceration by making it so expensive no one could afford it. It cost about $300 a day to house a juvenile now. These states caved and gave in to consent decrees to get the lawsuits done.\
Basically a juvenile facility has to have teachers, social workers, nurses etc on staff to provide arse loads of programs for the youth offenders. That makes the cost of housing very high. When someone is arrested and locked up the arresting agency has to pay the bill to the detention facility for the cost of incarceration. For a comparison it cost about $30 a day to have an adult locked up.
The cost is so high most juveniles don't get locked up unless they commit a major felony like Murder, Armed Robbery or rape. This is by design.

There should be lots of openings for jobs in law enforcement after all the getaways we've been seeing over the past few years. People should get fired when a prisoner escapes under their watch and is free to roam around the country.

This was one of the arguments when the youths were moved to Angola. They argued they weren’t getting these services at Angola when in reality they were probably get much better services there than at any detention center.

How bad are police when they cannot find a teenager for nearly three months when the individual was shot in the same city? ....when being held for 1st degree murder nonetheless...
