I can’t believe Pat Shingleton is still around (at least as recently as a couple of years ago). I remember John Mahaffey and Ed Buggs on WBRZ. Mike Graham on WAFB was my father’s weather man of choice, though.

In the morning I put it on WAFB and when I watch local news it is WAFB. Sometimes on Saturday night, if I am watching the game on ABC I just leave it on the channel and it I will hear the local news and it seems like WBRZ tries too hard to get that story no one else is covering.
In today's online media, that's what it's all about.. Getting information, stories, pictures, etc no one else has, but for local news, people want to know about what's going on in local and state politics, what is going on that might have some type of impact on them (like the status of the sunshine bridge, etc). The weather.. And what's going on in local sports.
Chris Nakamoto just goes around trying to find something to make a story out of.

WBRZ pulled their channel from Dish over contract negotiations. I have enjoyed watching the Dish apology/contract negotiation/extortion thing they are running in its place more than I have ever enjoyed watching WBRZ.

I miss WAFB news. The stations in Dallas are crap and they all do hour long newscasts. It is annoying because they repeat themselves and cover the dumbest stories.

WBRZ is locally owned and operated. WAFB is playing with money from CBS.
Those who say Jaques Doucet is the best and WBRZ tries to be the first to a story.... "LSU to the Rose Bowl confirmed".
Since I was younger I've never understood how people liked WAFB better. It's just boring.

The last time i remember a story about the ratings WAFB literally had double the viewership
Even their facebook pages have big differences though that’s hardly scientific
Wafb. 331,000 likes
Wbrz about 211,000 likes
