30 is too much. What is worse is the argument that it should be income based. That's total horseshite. Any low income student can get Pell grants and the other free money. This is one of the only things a taxpayer gets a good return on their money.

That's a pretty asinine way to look at it.

Getting a better score than 75% of people is a low score? Hm. Learn something new every day.

Should everyone who has an academic scholarship that flunks out or drops below the maintaining level have to pay it back?

I bet you won't have the same tune when it comes to a malpractice lawsuit and your premiums going up

Thanks. I'm still paying for that mistake now.

That makes the "hungover" excuse look even more ridiculous.

Because I was hung over?

Eighteen year old makes bad decisions, let's saddle him with some debt, that should straighten him out.

ISO, yes.

Especially if it is publicly funded.

Because no where does it say you have to pay it back if you don't maintain your grades. You don't get any more money if you don't maintain your grades. That is the agreement, and it's perfectly fair already.

The contract was he would receive it as long as he did X, or lose it. It works the way it is supposed to.

Sure you were. If only you didn't get drunk both nights before, you'd have scored a 32.

I wasn't hungover when I took it. I just saw I got a good enough score to go to the school I wanted. And since I didn't need tops to begin with, reaching the next tier wasn't worth my time to go take it again.

Oh, well, no repercussions for poor decision making. You must be a supporter of the participation trophy.

Did you get a lollipop with your participation degree?

And the penalty for breaking the contract is voiding the future renewal options on the contract, not repayment of the cash value. You want to change the contract.

Good for you. My statement doesn't apply to you since you're not using the hungover excuse.
