It's amazing isn't it? They keep a stat tracker on every damn news program now. It's insanity.

Say June 10th, open 2 weeks before or more. Look like you are worth a flying frick.
Creates an unnecessary burden on the community. More likely to create a panic too with the way all these idiots are acting. I would rather just reevaluate each week.

The first case of swine flu was in April. By the end of June there were 1 million cases in the US. No one batted an eye. 3 months.
The first case of Covid in America was in January. We are 3 months in now. We are probably at 1 million cases if you count asymptomatic and people who got sick but it isn’t bad enough to see a doc and get confirmed.

We should all shelter in place for 2 years, just to be safe

Go read the executive order. It basically says "You have to stay home except for the following reasons", then it proceeds to list literally every reason you would leave home.
He also basically admitted that they won’t enforce anything.

Sure, but then why do it? He's pandering to the whiny scared people out there instead of actually being a leader and invoking confidence.
Extending something right now for 70 days does absolutely 0 positive things. All it does is increase the hoarding and panic. Instead, you can simply say that you are going to officially assess the situation every 10 days or whatever and make a decision for the following 2 weeks.

Is this the racist governor or the one who wants to kill babies after their born?
Posted on 3/30/20 at 3:48 pm to baldona
Oh I completely agree, it does absolutely nothing. The only reason he did it was because Maryland and NC did it first. He just had to one up them.

Is this another case of trump propaganda to destroy his presidency? Maybe, people that study this are informing people that make these decisions to take these drastic steps.

Tomorrow begins the start of my forth week of not leaving our property.
I've been just fine until I read the OP thread headline. Damnation, that hit me like a ton of bricks (followed by a stream of anti-VA-gov invective.
Whoever is advising that measly peckerwood on human reactions to gubment (sic) announcements is either right on target or the dumbest sob ever to collect a gubment paycheck.

I love how these charts just assume bed capacity is a constant.
It makes the healthcare industry look like their mentality is “what sacrifices are required from the rest of the country so that we can get through this without having to adapt at all?”
