Viral TikTok challenge promoting vandalism & theft in schools

It’s happening all across America. All schools and surrounding schools in our area are having to lock bathrooms during class and take away soap, paper towels & anything that could be taken or vandalized. If you have middle or high school aged kids, I can bet they’ve heard of this “trend”.
I hope these kids get sent to alternative school, pay for the damage and have to do community service. Maybe these parents will also step up and delete the CCP owned app and discipline their kids while they’re at it.

The latest challenge to gain popularity on the social media platform is the "Devious Lick" trend, which involves students posting videos that show them stealing, damaging or showing off items taken from school. As for how the trend got its name, according to Urban Dictionary, a "lick" is a "successful type of theft which results in an acceptable, impressive and rewarding payday for the protagonist."
I hope these kids get sent to alternative school, pay for the damage and have to do community service. Maybe these parents will also step up and delete the CCP owned app and discipline their kids while they’re at it.

The only downside about the tide pod challenge is that it didn't kill enough idiots.

I am starting to think the people who run social media sites do so only to laugh at 14-25 year old dweebs. Start stupid trend, profit.

Happened at a few local schools in Ascension and Baton Rouge as well

When you don’t have to work for anything you don’t respect anything.

Make it a trend to send the little shits to alternative school for the rest of their school days and prosecute them to the fullest extent of the law, and I bet that "viral trend" ends pretty quickly.

Remember all the "xxx will rot your brain" stuff of the previous generations that wasn't really true?
Social media is the first time where the "rot your brain" line is actually correct.

This crap has always happened regardless of TikTok. Some people just aren't happy unless they're taking a crap in the punch bowl. Some kids are just bad without the encouragement.
The good news is that with all the tamper proof bathroom items... the kids aren't smart enough to figure out how to get to them. CBS news just giving cover to school boards so they can find yet another reason to not have in person school.

This.
China has indoctrinated an entire generation with social media.
Read up on the "Little Pinks". They're nasty little frickers.

And somehow I would venture a bet that there is a commonality running through many of the participants…

My son was called in recently in regards to someone stealing a paper towel dispenser from the school bathroom (?) -- he said he knew who did it but wouldn't rat. I asked him why the hell someone would want to steal a paper towel dispenser and he said it was some sort of "challenge"

It's happening mostly at the predominantly white suburban high schools here in the Birmingham area. Vestavia Hills(upper middle class district) had to send a letter home to parents this week about it.

Well, they aren’t fans of Conway Twitty.
Studies have shown Twitty fans are far less likely to commit pointless acts of vandalism.
It’s science

Sure, there’s always been some jackass who put a roll of paper towels in the toilet just to be a menace but this is on another level. It’s relentless and kids are trying to one up another for views on tiktok. At our local middle school, a teachers SIM card & Apple Watch was taken.
I read where at another school, a principal was kidnapped & held in the janitor closet… all to be the “king of devious licks” on tiktok.

My 6th grade nephew said, at least at his school, it’s “all the white kids doing it with their phones out videoing it.”
ETA- I blame Logan Paul & the prank youtubers that these kids try to emulate. (Also blame the parents, of course) But this is happening in Atlanta city schools & white rural schools alike.

The joke's on them. Those brown paper towels suck. I'd beat my kid's arse if I caught them doing something like that. But then again.... that's why they wouldn't ever consider it.
