I find Tuscaloosa low on that list surprising.
One thing about Tuscaloosa, the "bad"areas creep awful close to the southern edge of campus, or at least the southern edge of typical off campus apartments.
In fact, I'd argue there is overlap.

LSU has one of the most violent areas of the city a few blocks north of campus.

Do we get to hang a banner, or claim an NC?
Honestly, if you stay out of the wrong area of town, you can be very safe in these cities.

Almost every SEC market has over 100k people. Those are mid sized cities, as is BR.

Auburn was at 76k in 2020, and growing.
There would be less violent crime if not for the proximity to Montgomery.

Do metro areas. 900,000 in Baton Rouge.

They are in order
It’s not in order by rate or by alphabetical. Does O come before N?

East Baton Rouge parish is 453,000 people. That is not a mid size city.
Metro area is almost 800,000
45% black. 3.1% unemployment. Tens of thousands of plant jobs. Huge middle class. It has its problems in NBR, but overall it is in decent shape.

What do you consider BR to be?

Truth.
I was in BR a bit ago…stayed at the Courtyard. It was fine. Good location. I went to a LSU basketball game…then hit some irish bar near the hotel. I grabbed some arse, my fault, and got the boot. Walked around a bit more and got lost…some locals helped me with directions to the greyhound and assisted me with the atm machines. I even seen’t some pretty ladies and woke up wrapped in a hangover…
Will visit again

I mean BR and Nashville are actual cities with other shite going on other than the school so obviously they will have higher crime rates.
