Violent crime rates for SEC school cities

Violent crime rates for SEC schools (all per 1000 residents):
- national average - 4.0
- Athens - 5.78
- Auburn - 1.03
- Columbia MO - 5.11
- Columbia SC - 7.05
- College Station - 1.97
- Fayetteville - 6.02
- Gainesville - 7.49
- Knoxville - 8.28
- Lexington - 3.04
- Oxford - 1.66
- Nashville - 11.87
- Starkville - 1.91
- Tuscaloosa - 5.46

I mean BR and Nashville are actual cities with other shite going on other than the school so obviously they will have higher crime rates.

I guess I always thought Nashville had things more under control than it really does. I’m surprised it’s at basically the same level as BR.

Take out Nashville which is a major city, and we are 45% higher than our closest competitor.

Knoxville at the top is also a surprise. I definitely feel safer there than BR, but I reckon that's just a result of being in the "right places".

It’s not, it’s one of the higher crime rate cities. Auburn was tops for safety
