After announcing his retirement this past summer, Vince has unretired and back on the board of directors

Former WWE CEO Vince McMahon, who remains the controlling shareholder of the wrestling organization, plans to return to the company to "fully capitalize" on the upcoming media rights negotiations, he announced Thursday.

McMahon, 77, retired over the summer following allegations of sexual misconduct that included non-disclosure agreement payments. Though McMahon used personal funds for the NDA payments, he failed to record those expenses, which totaled $19.6 million.

You can't keep Vince away. That's his whole life. He won't walk away until he's 6 feet under.

Vince considered doing a storyline of being the father of one of Stephanie's kids. Wouldn't be surprised if he tries to milk the frick out of the situation on TV.

Is he coming back in the NWO, or the Wolfpack?

WWE has lost the plot almost entirely. Everything now is so over-produced it's tiring. Wife and I were in the Superdome for EIGHT HOURS during Wrestlemania 34 only to see what was quite possibly the worst Mania main event ever. Three hour RAW has been a disaster since that started. I quit watching consistently several years ago and from the looks of it absolutely nothing has changed.

Well, since Vince left its actually became a much more watchable product with HHH in control.

Once Vince is officially out of the picture I'm guessing the WWE will be good again.

This is a pretty interesting story from a business perspective.

Vince is the majority shareholder so, given that, there are a lot of things that the company, specifically its Board of Directors, needs his support for in order for them to get done.

Reading between the lines of Vince's statement in conjunction with this, this absolutely feels like the comnpany is getting ready to offer itself for purchase to the media entities vying for the TV rights this year (NBC/Universal, FOX, Disney, etc.). This has been a rumor for sometime that much of the personnel changes within the business, even before Vince retired, were in preparation for a sale.

WWE is big business and one of more recognizable brands in entertainment, especially globally. This will be interesting to watch throughout the year.

I had a conversation similar to this a few weeks ago. My theory is that there isn't a character that a wrestler can create that would be more popular or at least even as popular as what has already been created so that's when women wrestlers started to become more common.. I am not saying that's a bad thing, they just milked everything they could from the legends without introducing as much new talent as they should have with the legends and once they were gone, there wasn't much for the older fans to hold on to.

Yeah, I don’t think some people realize just how big. I think WWE’s value is estimated in the ballpark of $5 billion, which would put them in the same company as the New York Yankees. If they were a sports team, they’d be top 2-5 most valued on the whole planet.
