I know what you're saying but I have seen some very good looking women come out of engineering school lately.
A beautiful woman with a brain is my kryptonite

I see some pretty girls in engineering these days, just as I'm starting to see some female pilots that you can actually say "she's pretty hot" without having to use the "for a pilot" qualifier

Seriously, I know this family and they are good people.
People can be a dick about this, but you don't realize how big of a deal this is especially for someone whose family goes to the beach every year with friends and family.
She has a type of MD that progresses. She once had the ability to walk, but as she got older the less she was able to do for herself. For a parent, this is heartbreaking because one day your child is running around just like all the others, but then all of a sudden they can't play as long as they were able to.
Then things like crawling up the ladder on the slide gets more difficult. It's all in steps. Things that they were once able to do on their own they suddenly need help doing it then it gets to the point where they can't do it at all.
The lifespan of someone who has what she has is early to mid 20s, but when you can still live a life. Get out and do the things you like it makes a big difference in that person, especially psychologically.

I do as well and I'm so happy to see her smile like that.
Sometimes it's the smallest things that makes someone with a disability happy, things most people take for granted.

Exactly.
Look, I am fortunate to have friends (I know, I don't have any friends, no one likes me, I suck) who have always included me in everything. Even if there are things I can't do, I was a least there or found another way to do something.
There are a lot of people who are in a similar situation as me and doesn't have the ability to do even half the things I am fortunate enough to do. I've been asked to talk to others before and what I found out is that it all starts with how someone is treated when they young.
If someone has a "disability" and they are treated different and their parents keep them away from things because they can't do them and use it becomes an excuse for everything then they will likely struggle when they get older.
But when someone grows up in a "normal" environment, they are not treated different because of their disability the real world isn't as scary and they get out and learn that they will be treated different by others but because they have people in their life who doesn't, it's easier to adjust to the real world..
And her parents makes sure she stays involved and don't make an excuse why she can't do this or go to that.

How will that thing fit into a car? Might as well just strap a person to a four wheeler.
