No power, lots of catastrophic damage. We know of one fatality and a child is missing. It’s so dark it’s hard to conceptualize how bad it is.
Came and went. Really surreal. I said in another thread I made wind turbine blades. Our building? Located at MAF. We had an F3 go overhead a few years ago.
I’ll tell you all with great certainty that tornados are much scarier than hurricanes.

Because lots of new houses have been built where Katrina took out the old ones and it’s gentrified
No damage for me but I’m in the middle of Chalmette a few miles away

Second big tornado in a few years. The constant severe weather in NOLA is becoming almost as off putting as the high crime. Not sure how much longer I can take living in the area.

Hear from a good friend source there's more fatalities to report later this morning

Had one roll through our area here few years ago. They are scary and way less predictable than a hurricane. There will be damage but hope the loss of life is minimal.

Was anyone else noticing the little circles she kept making with her finger

It’s coming. This Administration and their media shills have now coupled climate change and environmental Justice. Hurricanes caused by climate change are seeking out low income and minority areas to destroy.
It’s hard to make stuff like this up, but they have zero shame.

Not just NOLA, but the whole Southeast US along the Gulf Coast, from SE Texas to Florida.
I would like to hear a serious, non-partisan debate about the role a warming planet plays in the rise in severe storms in this region.

And how much we can actually do to stop it. If we remove half of the ice engines from the planet by 2030 and can only drop the average temperature by 0.1 degrees, is it really worth it?
