Verizon in the BR area....

Is it just me or has VZW been sucking arse for the past 3 or so weeks???
VZW used to be the cream of the crop when I signed on 2 years ago leaving att, but now I’m having speed issues all over town.

At least know what you're talking about. Those cheaper phones are on a different frequency than Verizon/at&t. They use the good frequencies. Sprint/T-Mobile/Metro PCS shite like that, they use they poo frequencies.

Years ago when we were researching for a company plan, the short story was this. All carriers are good along major highways. Verizon was stronger north of I-10 / I-12 with more towers. Verizon also stronger on the coasts. ATT was a decent second. Sorry to hear that the big V is sliding down. I know that my ATT signal in downtown BTR has gone to pot over the last few weeks. I have to walk outside the building to use my cell phone now.

Why do you still have AT&T? I'm surprised anyone in Baton Rouge does after the flood.
A company that gets insurance money from Gustav to raise and improve station but pockets money instead. Then service is non existent when people need it the most during the flood. Trying to call for help and can't call anyone. AT&T should be shown the door.

Same here verizon service has been really slow lately. Also got out of my contract a couple months ago. Coincidentally last couple updates have really slowed my phone down to a crawl.

Verizon worked fine prior to the flood. However, after the flood, their signal turned to garbage. Takes 15-20 seconds to load a TD page in Denham (averaging 0.5 Mbps download vs 25 Mbps in BR).
