BBC Article

Moral of the story, don’t ram a ship designed to take on an iceberg.

Um, isn't that technically an act of war? Portugal and Venezuela...

I think it’s definitely an act of war, but on day one Venezuela’s Navy takes a decisive blow losing to that cruise liner. I think 4 fishing boats and a dingy out to be able to take out the rest of the navy.

Venezuela may just want to retire their navy forces after that blunder.

I bet the crew of the navy ship were rescued by the cruise liner, immediately asked for political asylum and then had the best meal they’d eaten in months.

Yes but only if it was an actual threat and it wasn't

When your navy starts a fight with a cruise ship and loses, it’s time to get a new navy.

Yes, it was a threat. Did you read the article? The Venezuelan naval vessel was trying to force the cruise ship to dock in Venezuelan territory for inspection even though they were in international waters. It was absolutely an act of war. Had that been an American cruise line you can bet that they would have been introduced to a cruise missile or two.

Just because they didn't succeed doesn't mean it wasn't a threat.

Your Navy most really suck if you get sunk by a cruise ship.

The Venezuelan ship essentially sank itself by intentionally ramming the cruise line trying to force it to change direction.
