Whoa wait a second. This is damn near as bad as the comment left by Poodlebrain, and is without a doubt victim-blaming. Everyone on this board has gotten drunk before at a party, but getting sexually assaulted outside of a dumpster is not a reasonable consequence we have to consider. She didn't put herself in danger with reckless behavior - she got drunk and a sociopath put her in danger.

There is no "yeah, the guy is wrong, but..." in these kind of cases.

I just want to clarify for you, the Stanford guy did not just roll up on a passed out chick behind a dumpster and assault her. Maybe read up on what happened before posting about it. What he did was bad enough without someone just making stuff up.

So in the Stanford case:

The was already passed out behind the dumpster, or she passed out and the dude brought her behind the dumpster?

Also, did he bang her or just a little finger doodling?

Fair enough. It appears they had some interaction at a frat party beforehand. In my defense, a number of articles out there didn't delve into that detail so I didn't just blindly post about something I hadn't read on.

Bottom line is this girl couldn't walk. That's not a gray area for me. That's rape.

He did not have sex with her... NOT RAPE!

Sexual Assault - YES

Was he going to Rape her in his drunken stupor? I believe so... but he didn't get to that part before being stopped.

I don't think there is a charge for "Attempted Rape" like there is for Murder.

Did anyone here actually read the case? These two cases are not the same and pretending they are is dishonest.

Now compare them to the black Baylor football players that were raping people

I know of two ditzy babes who have bragged about getting banged behind the akasha dumpster in tigerland in the past 18 months with no actual recollection of the event other than what they were told. Consensually drunken Dumpster bangs outside of a bar happen all the time.
Were they unconscious?

Yeah, correct. I guess I picked a poor thread to post in because the premise of the thread was comparing the Vandy incident to this one. I wasn't really going in that direction. You're right. He didn't rape her under statutory definition, I guess. My point is really that I don't think anyone should liken this incident to others were there is a gray area as to whether consent was given or not. Maybe nobody did that in this thread so it wasn't' the place to share those thoughts.

Dude, he specifically it, "doesn't make his assault any less criminal"

I mean, getting drunk and passing out behind a dumpster is acting pretty dumb and reckless, on what planet it is not? Yea, we've all gotten drunk and done dumb shite, and we were all dumb for doing so.

I don't feel the least bit sorry for the Vandy football player, but yeah, if the Stanford kid was poor and black rather than rich and white, he would have gotten no mercy from the judge.

If he didnt go to stanford would everyone still classify him as rich and white? And in comparison is the Vandy guy actually poor and black?

He was on scholarship, both parents work, one is a nurse, one works as a civilian contractor for the air force. I am pretty sure they are not rich, but just middle class. They needed help to afford the lawyer. Friend said he knows the parents house(I am from the same city) and it isnt all that special
