I would definitely point the finger at violent video games and films versus the firearm manufacturers. The first two industries are making bank off the violence in their content which they know appeals to impressionable young teens while the gun manufacturers operate in a much more responsible environment.
So why not sue the disengaged parents who buy these games and movies for these kids because you’re supposed to be 17 to buy them then too?

Or ask yourself of the 100s of millions that play videos games, why did this one person shoot children? It all begins with the parents.

It’s a bold move to blame parents for wanting to watch the world burn after their children were gunned down in a horrific massacre.
It's not a bold move. I have sympathy for their plight and empathy for what they are going through, but these sorts of actions are unrealistic and should be shunned.

I'm truly sadden about the lives lost, but stops there. I have zero sympathy for these parents now. The local police have blame, but the gun mfg, and now AV is just stupid. And they are also behind anti-gun activists too. frick these people

Having said that-it really comes back to engaged parenting. Don’t turn your kids loose for hundreds of hours and let videos and online content establish what’s acceptable and exciting behavior

The only adjective I can come up with for this is "gross"

Yes. The answer is yes he would have.

Just curious, were there any shootings before video games?

I wonder how many feel this way but wanted Scheffler to sue the cop.
You’ve missed the point entirely.
Suing the PD, and not monetarily, to hold that pos cop responsible, because the 200 other times that a-hole flipped out and arrested people for no reason, they were regular joes and not Scottie Scheffler the morning of the PGA Championship. It’s not for money. It’s for principle. It’s for public safety. It would be him being a champion for anyone who had ever been a victim of this cop and anyone who might in the future.
It’s not even close to the strategy of suing every wealthy company they can possibly think of to make millions of dollars on the death of their children.
How can you not understand that?

Uvalde should sue them for being bad parents.
Whoops, wrong parents.
Whoops, wrong parents.

This article is from 2018 but it still applies:
Lots of video games back in 1927. And they use “1980” as the video game age, but that’s space invaders and pac man.
Hell there was a school shooting in Plain Dealing, La. in 1894 that resulted from a fight.
It’s just becomes convenient to look for a cause of a tragedy instead of accepting that some people are just psychopaths.

Of the 100 most deadly school massacres in modern history, 40 took place in the United States. The most deadly took place in 1927, in which 38 elementary school children and six adults were murdered by a man who wanted revenge for his failure to secure an elected position.
A total of seven attacks took place in the era before video games were a part of American life, leaving 33 school shootings between 1980 and 2018, in which more than one person was slain.

There were mass shootings before there were ever video games.
Or Daniel Defense.
It’s grieving parents who are hurting bad, I get that, but this lawsuit is nonsense.

Have you seen what call of duty looks like now
This is a skin in CoD currently. I'm sure teens running around as an anthropomorphic rubber duck are being radicalized by the hundreds.

By that token can every rape victim sue law and order special victims unit?
This is a bad comparison.
You are actively on the first person act of killing others in call of duty, SVU doesn’t provide that.
Most people can separate that morality and reality in their mind but what does it do for someone on the brink who is incentivized in the game to kill people
I do think as VR becomes more and more realistic and reality becomes blurred it’s going to be a problem in situations like this.
People are using VR in its infancy to practice tasks with their job. It won’t be nearly as big of a leap in the relative near future.

Interesting question that cannot be answered.
GTFO with that. You'd have to hold every violent form of entertainment to that same standard. Why just Call of Duty? This is a cash grab and is frankly pathetic.

Sue the various law enforcement cowards instead of one of the largest video game developers on the planet now under the 3 trillion dollar Microsoft, the largest corporation on the planet. It’s so obvious they’re milking the death of their children for money.
I’ll bet they’re figuring Microsoft rather pay them a hefty sum to go away rather than deal with the optics of a public trial. Pathetic that they’re trying to profit off their kid’s death.
