Let's hope this is the first domino to fall. FWIW, he has gone underground like the coward that he is since right after the shooting.

If he misses 3 consecutive council meetings unexcused, he loses his seat.

Not celebrating a paid vacation. I'll celebrate when he faces true justice.

He probably doesn’t know that....just like his actual work.

Why does Uvalde school district have a separate police force from the city? Maybe I'm just not aware of separate school district police in our parishes.

I’ve yet to figure this out myself. I could see it in a big city like Houston or Dallas where the school district could have 100s of officers for the county. But for Uvalde?

My county uses a county Sheriff for each school and we have city police also.

At the end of the day it likely comes down to one thing....money and who is getting it.

Yes the articles keep referring to a "school district police." I'm wondering if this is just the media twisting words or does this city elect a separate police chief for the school? Weird.

That actually got pushed from public last night at the actual city council meeting with public (the one in thread on OT was Monday & was always going to be closed for testimonies to house committee investigation and lead by the committee chairman).

He asked for leave of absence with some thinking it would be best for him to not be there, but a lady pushed them to vote no to his request as 3 absences triggers special election helping remove him quicker. A recall had to wait until he was in place 8 months, and city already said they couldn’t fire him or remove him from council. This pushes him to show up or gets him replaced much quicker.

In Texas, 309 of its 1,200 school districts have police forces separate from County/City departments

May feel he is being scapegoated and feels that other heads need to roll.
