Unless you're a hotshot driver or have a weekly trip that would put you needing to charge on the road, you spend more time fueling up than 99.9% of EV owners.

Hope the electric truck works out for you.

Not only am I hauling cattle I also have a 7 round bale carrier and last year I spent over 20 hours driving over 500 miles in 2 days just moving round bales off of one of our fields to another place. Electric trucks will have to come a long way to help me.

To quote Thomas Sowell, there are no solutions. There are just alternatives with different trade-offs.

If you want a vehicle with fewer moving parts likely to require maintenance, go electric but consider the trade-offs of lower range and longer time to refuel.

If you prefer longer distance to refuel and value your time, but are willing to endure more frequent maintenance over the years, go internal combustion

My friend you are on the wrong message board we can not have any resonable fair takes on here.

I doubt it will ever leave the property. We 3rd party pretty much all the moves we make in conjunction with our neighbors to keep the prices down. It'll be nice to have something we can charge off our existing solar and I'm probably going to expand it to help with the additional load. We'll see how it works out. I'm looking forward to creeping around quietly, maybe i can put a dent in the pig population finally.

100 gallon tank?

Just kidding

LOL

I think it is 35 gallon. And it moved but was less than a quarter of a tank. But its flat here and we didnt have hills or traffic to deal with.

And that 35 gallon is about $175 to fill up from empty. Ouch.

What kind of gas mileage would an F150 or F250 get towing 5 tons? $13 for a hundred miles doesn't sound amazing.

Dims will have this figured out by 2030

And by figured out I mean, you will not travel far from your house and the government will deliver you your ration of food when we no longer have 18 wheelers

You sound angry. I hate electric vehicles, am not obese and could PT you until you died from it.

Is PT some weird sexual position I'm not aware of?

EVs have their place. Towing is not it.

I don't think having EVs as an option is bad, in fact I think it is good for the market. The problem is governments pushing for tech that just isn't ready for mainstream. It will get there sometime in the future but we don't sacrifice today's people for an unknown future gain.

Not wanting to be around obese rednecks is an affirming choice of how I lead my life and the people I surround it. Go eat a yellow snow cone, scab.
