My mom lives in BFE Maine. She mailed me a box 3 weeks ago usps and it took 16 days to get here.

I mailed a box FedEx ground to her friday afternoon and it just got there an hour ago. I couldn't drive it myself any faster than that. Its 2300 miles door to door.

Then why dont you stop complaining and do it yourself! My tax dollers can go on to support someone’s mail that is more grateful!

It's a government agency...color me shocked that a private company is more efficient.

Someone mailed me a check from Charleston SC and it took 3 weeks. It was postmarked when the sender said he sent it.

I use USPS as little as possible.

UPS ground is better for packages.

Agreed. I limit the amount of shite I buy on EBay because of that fact. Their service is a shite show but their tracking system is even worse. They are always way behind on where the package is and I’ve even gotten stuff delivered that their tracking system doesn’t even know got shipped already. It’s a perfect example of how our government can frick anything up.

I've seen a check that was maybe 45 minutes from the receiving address, sent all the way to the North Texas PO(close to 4 hours away) before delivery.

They are basically a job program.

I attempted to look up an attractive 73 year-old woman to show you that there could be one…..

No bueno.

I withdraw my request.

Earlier this year, I bought a poster on eBay which the seller told me was shipped in a tube, and it took 8 weeks to receive it (from OK to FL). On a non-holiday season.

If I'm ordering something for my work, and I see USPS at checkout, I'll go to a different website or vendor if there's no options. Sending anything via USPS is like lighting money (and the shipped item) on fire. I don't know if it's just a local thing, but I'd say somewhere in the vicinity of 25% of packages sent USPS don't ever make it to us, and the ones that do take a non business functioning amount of time to get here.

What's worse, is if something is lost, it will just stay as "still coming, delayed" for months and months.

It's impressive how bad our mail service is.

I never have issues with USPS, however my mail lady hasn’t passed since last Tuesday and I’m waiting on a letter that should’ve been delivered Wednesday

I posted a thread a while back complaining about USPS. The amount of people here who absolutely love the Postal Service shocked me.

USPS "insurance", including the priority mail included insurance, is a complete scam. We ship/receive many individual items, and a small percentage get lost or destroyed in USPS custody. They will gleefully deliver an empty, ripped open box, proudly considering it complete.

I've never had a successful USPS insurance claim, out of around 2 dozen. Every one our postmaster agreed with and approved the loss. There are multiple steps to each claim, and every one is automatically denied. You aren't necessarily notified, but it is denied. To appeal, you must contact them, sometimes online and sometimes via USPS mail, with a limited time from the denial, which you may not even know occurred.

Also, any hand addressed birthday or Christmas cards are stolen, for the inevitable gift cards or cash.

The USPS is a hot mess.

I've been waiting on an item for four weeks now.

It went from China to California, then to Georgia, then to Dallas, then to Baton Rouge, then to Jackson, MS, then to Memphis.

I live near Baton Rouge.
