I am sure Brazil, Argentina, France, Portugal and Spain have the same deal with their women's teams...

And that entitles them to half the men's money how?

Don't say it's because the men agreed to it, because that's not the question.

They do win actually.

Four Women's World Cup titles (1991, 1999, 2015, and 2019), four Olympic gold medals (1996, 2004, 2008, and 2012), and nine CONCACAF Gold Cups.

Compared to the USMT

Uh, the Men's World Cup is slightly more popular.

You're equating the local Bowling Championship against the PBA. Just because it's also called "The World Cup" doesn't mean the impact, fanbase, importance or skill level are the same. It's not the same thing.

In a way this is the USWNT acknowledging passively that nobody will ever give a shite about them, so they used politics to secure a handout from the branch of the sport people actually watch

i have a hard time blaming them for using whatever leverage they can to get more money. Get your bag

I blame the media for knighting them and not pushing back on a narrative everyone knew what bull shite.

That article cheery picks a time frame the men didn't play in the world cup to make that claim.

Yeah but with an alimony to pay. You just don't get it until you've experienced it.

Since the US teams are constantly changing, who is eligible to receive a check on the womens team?

Is it on the day the men win, get the check or anyone rotated onto the team during the world cup year?

And when the men don't play in the world cup they don't earn that revenue and the women don't get a share of it. They aren't guaranteed make the world cup and much less the round of 16.

The women on the other hand have finished top three in all of their world cups.

Lulz, I'm sure the mens team is thrilled about this.

I think the players actually voted for it (mens).

It's not an equal comparison at all. The men bring in more money when you look at it with any kind of honesty. You don't seem interested in that though.

Simply answer why the women should get half of the men's earning? If you'd like to answer it a different way, why should the women have to split their earnings with the men?

The men better get their $100 each when the women win $4,000 for winning the next women’s World Cup.

I took my daughter to a couple World Cup games in the south of France three years ago. The stadiums were completely freaking empty. These stadiums are full in Quatar. frick women’s soccer.

Winning would matter more if that were the sole reason for the amount of money players are paid. But we all know that is not true. Athletes are paid based on their value to entertain others. Yes, winning obviously helps with that, but winning doesn't matter if nobody wants to watch because they find you boring.

Dude literally gave you a link showing that in the last 3-4 years, the women have brought in more. If you read the article, you'd know they are attributing this to a surge in popularity in women's soccer.
