They call this stagflation. The economy contracts and prices still skyrocket due to inflation. Like the late 1970s.
That’s not stagflation at all.
Stagflation is when inflation matches economic growth, resulting in no real gain.

Outsourcing has primarily profited the 1% and hollowed-out the middle-class.
Killed small towns where I came from. They turned from places where you could make a decent living and raise a family to hollowed out areas with nothing but crime and drugs.
And in the worldwide economic/geopolitical framework, outsourcing has essentially transferred a large part of our middle class(manufacturing) to China, our largest geopolitical rival(see: enemy).
Who is in charge and why?

People will act like they never supported the destructive policy because they are embarrassed now, but a vast majority of this website was fully on the shutdown and stimulus check support train.
There was never any doubt it would play out this way.
The past 2 years consisted of some of the worst policy positions in the short history of the USA.

a common definition of recession
It's so common that the last 10 times that we've had 2 consecutive quarters of negative growth all 10 have been declared a recession.

Really would love a mean tweet and not be in a recession right now.
frickin' pussies that voted for this disgust me.

The main covid thread (the one that is like 1,000+ pages) is interesting to go back and read.

They will scream to high heaven from the right about it being Biden’s fault, and from the left about it being Trump’s fault, but the only people at fault are the 90+% of Americans (and 99% of this board) who supported those policies.
“Truth be told, if you're looking for the guilty, you need only look into a mirror.”

Well, we now know that the branch covidians are retarded, so, at least that's a positive that came out of that time period.

Over 90% of those on here who claim to be “pure bloods” were fully on board with it too, although they would never admit it.

Or they try to justify their stance by claiming ignorance as if the writing wasn’t on the wall. They got manipulated by the images and stories from Italy. You had people wanting to arrest a man for murder in St Louis because he went to a father daughter dance when a relative may or may not have had Covid. It was insane.

Scruffy is right. Blanket "stimilus checks" should have never happened. Once, after the first "Two weeks to flatten the curve" failed to produce any real positive results, everything should have been open for business. Instead, we doubled and tripled down on stupid.
Add in the billions and billions of dollars of "CARES" money that was pumped to states, much of which ended up being used as more rounds of "stimulus" to local government employees impacted very little, if at all, by the shutdown instead of being used for anything benefiting the states, cities, or counties the money was supposed to help. It was all a poorly managed "kid in the candy store", half-baked scheme designed to kick the fricking can down the road. Well, here we are now with nowhere left to kick the can.

The COVID lockdowns issued by Trump and Fauci with the subsequent COVID bailouts was the largest transfer of wealth in my lifetime. Small businesses were deemed 'unessential' while the big box stores were allowed to remain open. All that bailout money was spent at Target, WalMart, Amazon, Home Depot, etc who then sent that money to China to buy more shite.
It was like watching a train wreck in slow motion and having 70+ percent of the population cheering it on like the Salem Witch trials.
Too many people with their favorite politician's musk scented dildo rammed up their arse to see that both parties royally screwed up the Covid response. I blame the administration that opened the door to this shite more, however.
