Think about the children. My son loves fishing. They hate kids.

That’s one of my biggest fears with the EV push is that it will make fishing unobtainable for a lot of folks. Yes, you could still probably sit on a bucket on the shore and hope for a bite but that ain’t fishing, it’s hoping.

I hate the mandates and EPA frickery. I’m not really worried about it personally because I can plan, but still hate how this is moving. I try to be realistic and know none of this crazy shite will ever actually happen though.

Aside from the Japan trip, I will be taking a trip to Europw to take in some EPL action along with tracing my family’s ancestry so I will be using the shite out of their rail system. I just have so many questions about how they incorporate it into their daily lives.

My experience is that the non- travelers use it infrequently but there’s still a significant usage. That came at a not insignificant social cost.

I guess I will need to press my European fiends a little more on how they feel about it even though most will admittedly reveal that they’ve become very Americanized since being stateside.

It’s one of those things that disproportionately impacts those that feel it. Unless they lost land or had a pasture/vineyard bisected by it, they may not have a different opinion. As someone who’s dealt with that, it’s troubling.

On Thursday UAW President Shawn Fain cheered the announcement, saying the policy "makes clear to employers that the EV transition must include strong union partnerships with the high pay and safety standards that generations of UAW members have fought for and won."

Hmmmmm. Unions get paid. Interesting.

This is why pickup trucks cost 80 grand nowadays.

I really wish China would just start making cars.

It’s a nothing burger at current generation capacity growth.

So we are investing $12 B of our taxpayer dollars for a meaningless capacity growth?

Since EVs weigh, on average, around 20% more than their gas-guzzling counterparts (that spiffy new 1,100 hp Hummer, for example, weighs north of 9,000 lbs.), may we assume BidenCo. has improved our streets and bridges to handle all that extra weight and bridge & road degradation, or has that money been repurposed as well?

What? This is a series of loans and grants in domestic manufacturing.

Big part of the reason why I’m against high speed rail. I know European countries have some great public transit but no way that it works here.

How much of our money did the govt blow on that boondoggle?

A quick search reveals $11B in 2010s dollars. Thanks Obama.

If it was a good idea that would provide a return, entrepreneurs and capitalists would be pursuing it without the govt spending our money to force it.

Are you under the impression that private investment isn’t interested in this space? That’s quite incorrect.
