“Huntsville is the most affordable place to live out of the 125 most populous metro areas in the U.S. for the second year in a row. An above-average median annual salary and low cost of living mean Huntsville residents are keeping more money in their pockets to devote to other things. Just 19.3% of the median household income in Huntsville goes toward housing costs,” wrote U.S. News.

Madison, AL also ranked #1 suburb in all of Alabama. Happy to be moving there in less than 10 days.

It's all lies. Don't believe them. Stay away from Huntsville it's a horrible city to live in.

Alabama folks have the same derangement syndrome as Texans...and folks who live in Oxford. Must be something they transport on I-20.

See? Alabama is full of dumb inbred rednecks. Huntsville especially. Much better to live in Birmingham if you have to live in Alabama. Especially within the city limits.

Your article excluded that Austin was listed as #1 overall.

My wife is from Birmingham. Her parents fled to the burbs about a decade ago.

This comes one day after Huntsville was named to a different list of top 10 cities most in danger of a housing crash.
Lists are wack.

10. Montgomery, Alabama Percentage of mortgages underwater: 28.2 percent Median home value: $83,100

Fail. Huntsville =/= Montgomery. My bad. Carry on.
