I totally agree. Btw I've lived in the Cary/Apex area for ten years now and love it.

Portland should be higher. Awesome parks, food scene, and some of the world’s best pinot noir country just down the road. A vibrant growing economy and rising home prices. Been there to visit friends a couple times recently and could easily move there.

Some of you need to turn off the news and the internet for a while. Step out of the world social media and news has created in your mind. But that’s a different topic.

I’m totally out of the nightlife scene for the most part now and I’d still hesitate before moving to SLC. shite’s weird there

Can you even get a cup of coffee there?

Yes, it's terrible here. No coffee. NO alcohol. Don't come. Everyone is way to weird and religious. Terrible place.

SLC used to be high up on this list until the pop culture made a hard turn against any form of religion. Only two bad things about SLC are lack of access to big water and a really wide range of air quality...it can get bad selectively. The Mormon stuff is overblown bigtime. So is the low food culture. But QoL in general is rock solid. Best place I've lived easily.

2020 Newsweek best places to live in every state

quote:

Louisiana: Prairieville

- Population: 31,721
- Median home value: $231,600 (87% own)
- Median rent: $1,152 (13% rent)
- Median household income: $94,478
In 1969, months after Woodstock, many of the same acts that performed at the seminal festival in upstate New York came to Prairieville for another historic concert. Today, this suburb of Baton Rouge has a steady mix of highly-rated schools, an antique shop, and Cajun cooking[quote]

FLORIDA
[quote]Florida: Nocatee

- Population: 13,266
- Median home value: $371,300 (82% own)
- Median rent: $1,689 (18% rent)
- Median household income: $115,250
Nocatee, Florida, is a master-planned community south of Jacksonville. The coastal community has carefully-designed neighborhoods featuring everything from parks and recreation to shopping, restaurants, and more. Nocatee is located in Ponte Vedra, putting it at the doorstep of golf courses, beaches, and the airports of Jacksonville.

I mean, it can be both

I fully believe the chaos in Portland is isolated. That said, they have spineless jelly as a mayor who allows militants run a few blocks whilst chastising anyone who tries to stop them.

And what's more, he's about to lose to an actual communist.

So while I agree with most of what you say, there are obvious issues likely to come home to roost at some point.

I love Austin, but it’s a shell of what it used to be. The city council rivals the EBR metro council in terms of dysfunction. Repealing the “no camping” ordinance was the worst thing they’ve ever done. Austin used to be the cleanest big city I’ve ever seen. The rampant homeless problem has destroyed that. There are tent cities and trash everywhere. Governor Abbot has done what he can and removed them from state-owned right-of-ways periodically, but Mayor Adler and the idiots on the council refuse to acknowledge how it’s hurting businesses downtown and giving the city a really bad look.

Yeah. Anyone who worries about that hasn't been to SLC in recent years
