This is completely ridiculous. It’s crazy that our government is enabling such dangerous drugs. Why can’t people just drink whiskey and smoke cigs like the good old days? Those things were completely safe for consumption.

Good sarcasm.

Taking it off schedule I is the fricking opposite of a nothing burger.

It frees up the entire industry to go mainstream with banking. It is enormous and is the biggest development in the marijuana legalization effort's history.

I'll believe it when I see it

Yeah some places they do. Small possession is a misdemeanor everywhere but it’s not always just a ticket. Sometimes it’s an actual arrest.

No...they decriminalized it a few years ago. If you have under a half-ounce (14 grams) it's a $35.

And New Orleans police can test positive for it and not get fired.

You're getting down voted, but ISWYDT.

The only way mj or THC get totally legalized is when the right pockets get filled, or they start moving drug revenue to the general state fund away from LEO.

They really just can’t accept that the “War on Drugs” has been a massive systemic failure. Give up the ghost, DEA.

It’s not a failure from their perspective.

It’s an off the books money tree with a side of violence.

Marijuana shouldve never been categorized where it was.

The money was behind alcohol from the beginning. They got the word out on marijuana and tied it to a class of people.

Reefer makes white women sleep with black jazz musicians. William Randolph Hearst exposed the scam in the 1930s.

If you want to smoke, just smoke. No one gives a shite
That's probably largely true. But that doesn't take away the use of the overly stringent laws as a threat for the powerful to use against the less powerful. Yeah, smoke if you want to smoke. But if someone in LEO or gov decides to crack down, they have the full weight of the state "righteously" behind them.

The anti reefer conspiracy wasn't about THC, it was the lumber industry trying to get hemp out of the way
