McConville? The Secretary of the Army who is a woman? I don't think you know what you're talking about. Also that's not the same as being against straight, white men.

I mean...it's the peace time army and the military is currently gearing up for a potential war against China that they think will kick off before the end of the decade. Historically speaking, the peace time military is woefully unprepared for a full scale military conflict between first world powers.

Yea this seems a bit like an of course conclusion. The US shouldn’t maintain a standing military capable of fighting a major power at the drop of a hat. People hate Clinton for cutting the military - of course the US military budget should go down after the end of the Cold War. Same with Obama - the defense budget should go down as two foreign adventures wind down.

The US should however maintain a military apparatus that can be switched on to ramp up with relative efficiency. To me this means maintaining long lead time items (navy and air force equipment) and some level of protection over certain resources and manufacturing to make sure you aren’t starting from zero if you need to ramp up for a major conflict.

It also means maintaining American men in a state of less slovenliness. If you are between the age of 18-35 and not in the military or national guard I think there should be a tax credit available for anyone who wants to show up and pass a monitored PT test during the tax year. The CIA should also put ozembic into cans of white claw.

You should study your history. History proves the strongest deterrent to war is to demonstrate to all potential enemies a war against your country is a bad idea. The only way to have that deterrent is to have a powerful military.

And let’s be honest, our political leaders, especially the current administration, the focus has been on pushing political ideology at the expense of readiness. Our military has been gutted in the name of homosexual cross-dressing fetishism and luring from the military anyone who show the slightest conservative way of thinking. Since 2021, there has been a literal political purge of the likes you’d see in 1930s USSR.

We need to put the focus back on being a disciplined, well trained fighting force and do away with all the bullshite that has nothing to do with, and no place in our military.

How does a paper describing the mismatch between lethality on the modern battlefield and volunteer recruitment since the 1970s turn into a bitch fest about trannies?

I wish some of you would hurry up and frick off to another country like you keep threatening to do. You’re the same flavor of douchebag from the 70s and 00s whining about the draft and Enron, respectively.

There's a lot of stuff that depends on satellites and beyond line of sight communication, GPS, etc - all of these nations could and likely would destroy everything in space. Even if we destroyed everything China has in space, China would likely be able to launch things that then take out what we have in space, and so on yada yada yada. So our ability to synchronize things, communicate etc, would really be hindered. Same goes for the other nations.

Don’t forget the Covid 19/vaccination bull$hit.Thousands of soldiers, sailors and airmen were kicked out for refusing mRNA vaccine,a “vaccine “ that was proven early on to not prevent infection or transmission of the virus.
Active duty servicemen were the cohort least likely to be severely impacted by Covid.

All it was to ensure Austin and Milley got their cut of the Pfizer /Moderna profits.

I know a young soldier with 10 years in,spent a year in Afghanistan and a year in Iraq( both bull$hite wars,to be sure) and was unceremoniously kicked out for refusing the jab.He is understandably bitter,I don’t think the military has to worry about his sons ever signing up.

Also recently talked to a Marine 20 year retiree. He fought in Afghanistan and Iraq also.He expressed how he was thoroughly disgusted that he didn’t do something else with his life.He said he came to realize all he fought for was a lie,was also pissed off about the vax but he was so close to retirement he had to take it.

I suspect there are thousands of veterans with similar feelings. It doesn’t bode well for an all-volunteer military.

I’m a Navy veteran,my 2 stepsons both served with my encouragement, have a grandson that is a Navy pilot.I’ll be a sob if any of my other grandsons join if I have anything to do with it.

Sure.

But that has nothing to do with a draft.

The one thing I learned is it sucks not having air superiority. Glad we don't have that issue.

I feel for the guy. Being a cynic served me well, in that sense, as I had already reached those conclusions well before I ever got on a plane to go over there. I've been shite on before on this board for stating that I never considered my service to be anything other than transactional in nature but I've never had to deal with the moral quandaries and sense of betrayal that hits the true believers 10-20 years down the road.

We're not serious about winning wars as long as we continue to have females in combat roles. Once we caved on that issue, the Marxist Left knew they could do whatever they wanted with the DoD. They turned it into a social engineering machine instead of a war-winning organization.

Ukraine is fighting for their lives and I haven't seen any stories of them using women in frontline combat. You know all they Sean Penn "Slava Ukraine!" types would be non-stop with glowing reports of these women defeating Putin.

When people say this I really don't know what they're talking about. The military is mostly straight, white, men.

Milley knows what they are talking about.

He says he faces significant recruitment challenges because the military is seen as "woke"

I assume his seeing the perception negatively impact his numbers, trumps your confusion over the existence of said perception.
