That’s where she fricked up again. Based on the UCCJEA, the children’s home state is LA. In addition to abandoning these kids, she has now fled with them outside their home state jurisdiction. If OP’s nephew gets a temporary hearing in LA within a six-month timeframe, he will win sole custody of the kids and likely a restraining order prohibiting her from leaving the state with the kids.

It has to be she only took them for the holidays. No way he let her move the kids to a new state. All your nephew has to do is show they have their lives established here. They go to school, have friends here, etc. no judge will let her uproot them from their life. He may not win sole custody but she will have to keep her arse in the same school district if she gets split custody. There is some things in place that will work in your nephews favor due to protecting the kids current lives.
ETA: the crazy bitch only wants to use the kids for child support or get out of paying any. If she can just move she evidently doesn’t have a job/career

They were living together and have 3 or 4 kids, I knew she was asking about us because she thought I was a better option. I'm not about to help raise some other man's kids because I was a better option, because the count would eventually find a better(in her mind) option.
