This photo is reported to be the plane. It doesnt look like a 737. The 737s engines are under its wings not mounted on the fuselage near the tail.
I fly Bombardiers and that pic is definitely a Bombardier aircraft.

So it was ours and military? We need to hit that crash site with a couple of cruise missiles while the goat frickers are still loitering around looking for shite.

Next question is whether or not it was shot down?

Hope that wasn't the plane going to pick up Honkus.

Zoom in on the nacelle
Also look at the pics of the burned fuselage. There are no seats in it.

Aren’t those turbin powered engines?
A turban is something you wear on your head in that region of the world.
A turbine is type of engine.

Plane could have been put down and then scuttled by the crew (if it was/is a surveillance plane).

The video makes it seem like there was at least some control of the aircraft before it crashed. You wouldn't expect an entire fuselage to be intact if it was completely uncontrollable.

Looks like it tried an emergency landing, no?
Wonder if troops blew it up and are hiding, thus the phony commercial airliner story as a delay tactic.
ETA: udtiger beat me to it.
