(KABUL, Afghanistan) — An American military aircraft crashed in eastern Afghanistan on Monday, the U.S. military said, adding that there were no indications so far it’d been brought down by enemy fire. The spokesman for U.S. forces in Afghanistan, Col. Sonny Leggett, said that the military plane, a Bombardier E-11A, crashed in the Ghazni province and an investigation of its causes was ongoing. Monday’s plane crash is not expected to derail U.S.-Taliban peace talks if it turns out to have been an accident. The Bombardier E-11A is a U.S. Air Force electronic surveillance plane. Video from the crash site circulating on social media appeared to show its charred ruins.

I hate it for the passengers but Boeing just can’t catch a break these days.

Local officials said an Ariana Afghan Airlines Boeing 737-400 went down in remote and mountainous Deh Yak district in eastern Ghazni province.

This is interesting as the airline states all 4 of its planes are accounted for and on the ground and no one knows where this one took off or landed from according to the link.

The airline rejected those claims and said all of its planes had landed safely.

Kabul-based journalist Stefanie Glinski tweeted that she spoke to Ariana director Alem Ibrahimi following reports of a crash, and he said "our operations team is reviewing the situation and they are doing a stock take of our fleet and will share information as they become available".

But the state-owned airline has said it was not operating the flight

At this point you couldn’t pay me to get on a plane or helicopter for a few years.

I don't want to say this is a UFO, but it sounds like a UFO.

Exactly what I was thinking. So Taliban are friendlies, now.

Makes perfect sense.

With the conflicting information so far, this plane could be a Cessna as far as we know.

Current reports are that no airplane has crashed. The plane reported crashed is currently on another flight over India.

Crazy.

I've seen one of their planes roll off the end of a runway and get stuck. Stayed there for about a month before they pulled it out. They aren't exactly Delta.

I'm sure the Taliban Transportation Safety Board will get to the bottom of this.

This photo is reported to be the plane. It doesnt look like a 737. The 737s engines are under its wings not mounted on the fuselage near the tail.

Probably crashed because it was missing all those pieces of the plane that washed ashore.
