Update on Arizona hospitalizations: trend is clear. They have peaked and decline starting

The positivity rate reported today is 14.29%, down from 20.83% the same day last week.
Number of people currently hospitalized with covid continue to show AZ is likely past peak, and 7day avg of daily net change in inpatient covid population hits -42 today
This begs the question: why is Louisiana seeing a huge surge in hospitalizations while az is on the decline?

Seems to be similar here as well (Houston area).
Last week, shite show.
This week most patients are Covid the rest are scared and staying home but the numbers are down to manageable. Beds are still tight but not hopeless.

It just seems like common sense that individual areas will increase, peak, and level out on their own timelines. It’s a fricking virus and one city/state does not represent an entire country, much less a whole state or even a whole county/parish. This is why one size fits all approaches and statewide lockdowns are so fricking stupid and pointless.

Could Arizona shutting down bars, etc. on 6/29/20 while Louisiana followed suit on 7/13/20 have any correlation to where in the curve each state is currently experiencing?

It is almost like, despite our best efforts, this virus is going to work it's way through our communities with a natural increase in infections, a peak, and a decline.
We have seen enough to know that this is the reality. Ignoring that reality doesn't change it. Shoehorning every town, city, county, and state into the same approach will not change that reality. It is just easier for politicians.

This is so obvious by now, yet so many seem unable to accept it. They think government actions or mandates can make a meaningful difference. That is just arrogance in the face of nature.
