Its wasn't a rookie driving that boat if he was fishing at this level. The pros fish in a lot rougher water than what the conditions were like on Okeechobee. They don't put put around they would never get to where they want to fish.

Congrats, we have a place up there as well. Driving a boat 70+ in 2-3 foot chop is dangerous and irresponsible.

I cannot imagine he was holding on to that boat while it was constantly shifting and smacking the rocks. I know I sure as hell would have tried to get away from it.

Maybe the Bassfan journalist chose the word “clinging” for dramatics. That would not surprise me. Their article implies he was hanging on to it or at least very close to it.
The recollection from your re-post was that he untied himself from the motor and made it to land before the boat crashed into the rocks. Maybe they mean he was able to climb onto the same rocks before the crash.
What a horrible ordeal.

Now they are saying only the co-angler was ejected from the boat and Kisiah drifted to those rocks by the marina.

That was a badass boat.
It's easy to wreck those things, they are so lightweight and will go like 80 mph. Just hit a wave wrong and it will sling you. G forces probably knocked the other guy out and unless he had on a life preserver he probably drowned. Hopefully they find him ok but after 3 days it doesn't look good

This. Hell I have a 25 ft ski boat that is much wider and heavier than a bass boat and it will run 67 mph. If wind is blowing 20mph you ain't doing over 35 in the ski boat much less a lightweight bass boat. It will beat you to death

Sad. Thing is, I bet he was panicked and the only reason the engine wouldn't fire was because the wave made him yank the emergency lanyard. You forget about that damn thing, by the time he probably realized it he had already fricked up and swamped the boat. This is also a situation where having a waterproof emergency satellite phone is good

You should post about your running 70mph in a bass boat on the pad on top of 2-3s (or even 1-2s) on thehulltruth.
