You sir apparently know nothing of freshwater fish. Cat fish is pretty much shite compared to crappie, walleye, bluegill and bass.

Guess common fish in Arkansas is too yankee for some of you? Sorry you guys don't get to eat good fish and think catfish is the best tasting freshwater fish.
Posted on 1/7/18 at 5:16 pm to porkrind
You trying to claim Arkansas has better fish than Louisiana?
Posted on 1/7/18 at 5:17 pm to redstick13
Apparently better freshwater fish if you guys don't have walleye.

I do remember some coonasses that moved here after Katrina trying to catch catfish in hoop nets in a 200 foot deep reservoir. That was rather comical but I was nice enough to teach them how to do it here and they ended up staying.

Only in La would saying crappie be considered Yankee. Sac a lait is coonass.

Take a cat over a bass any day.

Only an Op (Opelousas Catfish, Flathead for yankees) would I take over a Bass.

I was not there but I very seriously doubt that happened. I have fished in 20 mph winds atleast 100 times and not once could I have ever gotten to 50 mph without sinking
Bass boats are fast but not made to run in 4-5 foot waves
The boat sunk/ wrecked and the 'captain' is being anything but open and honest about what happened, if you honestly think it was an honest mistake you are being ignorant here. He was clearly driving like a jack wagon.
2ndly, wave size is a matter of physics. Lake O is very shallow, well under 10 feet in most of it. It maybe had 1-2 ft waves. You can't have actual 4-5 footers, and if you did it would be Cat 5 type winds and they wouldn't be fishing. 20 mph winds on a 10 ft depth is maybe 1 ft waves. Still too big for bass boats to run safely at high speeds, but that's exactly what most likely went wrong.
Again, there's very little current on Lake O. When something or someone is throw from a boat that wrecks or sinks then everything mostly floats in the same direction. mayne 1 mile off, but a search crew would still likely find them.
I have a feeling we had a life vest failure or the guy left the boat for some reason, like he swam towards a light.

The investigators should be able to figure out if they were running on plane from the motor trim and jack settings.

I have no idea what actually happened and I certainly would not blame the missing anglers life on the driver without knowing so. If you go back and read my post, you will see that I stated he is probably being quiet because he was told to do so.
I promise you that Lake Okechobee was rougher than one foot waves and can get to 5 feet because I have seen it. I have fished tournaments down there where we had a day of fishing cancelled due to wind. But i wont argue that with you any longer. You seem to know more than me on this subject.
For those interested, this the whats left of the boat after being taken out of the lake yesterday. Pounded on the dike for a full day before they could get it out due to big waves.
