I don’t know. Seems like they were going to let it burn out, but then they put it out? I guess it left too much material? What’s crazy is that from many of the images the tank that flares up appears near disintegrated. I don’t pretend to know how they’d cap off the lines under the tank.
They just seem to be scrambling and a step behind everything. Today it is a run off ditch that caught? Can’t you pump the crap out of the ditch?

We know ITC company execs are idiots...really surprised how bad the State of Texas has allowed this shitshow to go on. The Governor has been silent on this. Houston city officials are always clueless..so no shock there.p

And what’s your authority on this? To bash everyone from the state of Texas to ITC execs you must be some sort of expert right? Sounds like one of the world’s leading experts in chemical plant fires has joined the OT, right?

I am not in the petrochemical industry. I am part of the senior management at a multi-billion hospital. Regardless of what industry you are in, there is a competent and incompetent way to deal with a disaster or community scare. The lack of presence of any senior executive from ITC at any of the multiple press conferences this week is unacceptable. One lives in West U, and two others live in Kingwood. The county's response has been uncoordinated with Lena Hidalgo unable to fill Ed Emmett's ability to hold people accountable. Ken Paxton, our Texas AG, is the only state leader who is on-site today and trying to get a final resolution to this week long inadequate response.

Bostco Terminal remains open. · Cargo ops have been suspended from Cargill facility east to CEMEX (LT 139 to LT 129). · Port of Houston fireboat reports highest benzene air concentrations in the area immediately north of ITC facility and from Cargill east to Lynchburg. Levels drop off west of Cargill and south of Lynchburg. · Tow companies have and are evacuating vessels in the affected areas. · Spill booms have been deployed at mouth of Carpenters Bayou and Old River. Future Plans: Once full extent of pollution is assessed and response plans developed, CG will evaluate navigation situation. At this time there is no projected timeline for resuming navigation or cargo operations in the affected areas noted above. This is due to threat of spreading the pollutants in the water and the threat of hazardous levels of benzene in the air. · USCG requests mariners make reports of observed pollution to Sector Houston Galveston · If mariners/companies make decision to evacuate vessels, inform USCG VTS so that info is available when traffic resumes. · Next PCT call is 24 March at 1000 CDT. Please advise GICA or Capt Tracy Cheramie (Towing industry PCT Rep 713-582-1706) of any issues you are encountering or need to have passed to the Team.
