I imagine the ITC, LLC will file bankruptcy shortly.

They are owned by Mistui, no bankruptcy, but Mistui may decide that facility isn't worth the trouble when the final bill is paid.

Smells like shite over here in Pasadena-more than usual.
The post-mortem on this will not be good for ITC (obviously), talking to the guys that were helping fight it...lots of questionable decisions made by their
They got em on video dumping all the runoff into the bayou by the docks. Stuff is overrunning the booms they have set. SDS on all 4 chemicals burned directly say not to allow extinguisher runoff into public drainage.
Also have a LOT of people in the plume coverage area that are showing blatant symptoms of chemical exposure

Someone I know who is working at another facility in the area said there was a shelter in place issued due to Benzene. Could that be due to lingering affects from this fire?
Posted on 3/20/19 at 1:23 pm to notiger1997
It's at Shell's refinery...could be related, could just be another day at Shell.

The foam subsided when the sun came out and airborne benzene was detected at Shell facility causing a temporary Shelter in Place.

There could be a benzene leak somewhere, but if benzene gets close to a fire it will burn very fast. The flash point is pretty low

Voters approved a raise for the fireman. Well deserved. So what did Sylvester Turner do? He fired the firefighters. There's your democrat insanity again.

Whole city of Deer Park is shutdown. Most roads heading into the city are being blocked off. Benzene and other VOCs being found well outside ITC.
Interesting situation we find ourselves in. Supposed to be working off Strang today but it's not looking like thatll happen

Supposedly a fire team from Gonzales, La got the fire under control just a few hours after they arrived.
Posted on 3/21/19 at 8:41 am to TheBigHurt
Ya ever heard of something called insurance?

Yep...this fire could have been controlled Saturday, but ITC was pretty ham fisted in handling it and declined help...if they had made the call to the guys from Louisiana Sunday night it could have extinguished.
The guys from Louisiana got there and just overwhelmed the blaze with their equipment.

There were 3 or 4 tanks of pygas that burned...the benzene is probably coming from the remnants of those tanks.

When they tried to leave ITC said that they paid for a full shift. So them boys made 2 jambalayas and gave the local kids pitching instruction to fill out the day.
Was it Southland Fire or some other team?

No such thing as a free lunch. Those dipshits that voted yes for prop B are going to end up adding monthly $40 garbage fee to everyone in the city

It was about 16 hours from when they got there to when the fire was extinguished. Pretty sure they used one of those air bombs on one of the tanks. Pretty impressive team. Not sure what the name was but it was a well control team.
We went home for the day, with full pay thanks to ITC. These plants and contractors are going to ram it in their arse so hard with reimbursement claims.
