He may face a lot of charges by the time this is over. Possibly murder, kidnapping, hindering prosecution, and lying to authorities. A veritable "Laundrie list", if you will...

He also crossed state lines...

If this is true, I think it’s a fairly safe assumption.

I suppose its possible that there was an accident, where she fell to her death or something, and he thinks that it will look like her killed her, and he was freaked out that he will be charged with her murder so he immediately lawyered up? Idk, this guy seems pretty fricked barring her surfacing alive.

It is safe to assume that there is foul play.

One would think that any competent lawyer would advise him to provide his story if it was an accident. The thing with these van life people is they think that lifestyle is less stressful than the "suburb" life. Reality is you still ha e the domestic issues but you confined those to 100 sf of space. I can imagine they were fighting and he flipped his shite.

Wait, you mean to tell me you wouldn’t get a lawyer if you were with someone, went your own separate ways, and then you heard she disappeared? You would just roll in and sit down and talk to the police?

American prisons are littered with naive people like you. Innocent and guilty alike.

Universal PSA: if you believe the police have reason to believe you might be a suspect in a crime, especially a serious one, call a lawyer and say nothing to the police. Nothing good will ever come from you talking to the police. You have the right to remain silent. This right is constitutional just the same as your right to free speech and your right to bear arms.

After watching that...drugs. Van life isn't glamorous, but this chick wants you to think it is. When you want to put a spit shine on everything that someone else will see...it's because the reality is so far from what you are trying to portray. These are meth heads...doing meth head shite in a van.

Yeah, that's an interesting aspect of these cases. It's the same thing with the husband in Colorado who is under arrest. No body and no forensic evidence of a crime or death. You can put intuition and circumstantial evidence together to point a finger or an indictment but how do you convict someone without a corpse or evidence of a crime? It's very hard to do that.

of all the possibilities, id say murdered by the boyfriend is most likely. but i can also see a chance where the relationship collapsed after literally living in a van so they went their separate ways and now hes lawyering up and not saying anything cause thats just the smart thing to do

but weird. youd think if that was true hed have just simply told her parents that they went their separate ways. maybe he did and the article just doesn't mention it. im leaning towards he killed her or she had an accidental death that he played a role in but i can a scenario where that isnt the case

I'm not going to assume they are meth heads or anything like that.

But I think attaching yourself to one person, then choosing to be homeless and living in a van could lead to some issues.

bro, do you even "And the Sea Will Tell?" if a prosecutor wants to pursue something bad enough there will almost certainly be at least a trial, if not a conviction

Which part of that story would make the boyfriend lawyer up?

All of it?

But more to your point, she went on a cross country trip with him, and he came back alone and she is now missing. If that ain't making you think you should lawyer up, you're not thinking too clearly.

I'll say, the overwhelming odds is this dude probably had something to do with it. Not guaranteed, but that's the odds on favorite But...the reasons I think that have nothing to do with him lawyering up and not talking, he absolutely should be doing that even if he did absolutely nothing.

There are a few different "Louisianans", the ones that think tattoos are trashy are not the same as the ones who knock up trailer trash whores who are divorced with 2 kids by the time that they are 23.

I don’t see it as that different from traveling in an RV or camping.

It’s not like they were living in a van down by the river. They were traveling places and just camping out of their van.
