It's assumed he meant to say Yellowstone...

Police said again tonight they know where he is, but won’t elaborate.
That’s interesting

The Florida search warrant of 9/15 says that the last communication anyone had with her was the 8/27 "Stan" text
But the news link/her mom's attorney says:
quote:
"No service in Yosemite," read the last text from Petito's phone to her mom, Nichole Schmidt, on August 30, attorney Richard Stafford confirmed.
So is the LEO in Florida wrong or the mom/attorney?
Did they tip their hand in knowing it wasn't from the alleged victim?

Oh. Well then that's strange as hell.
I'll chalk it up to her mom being confused from everything that has happened but yes, it is.

and since she never left Bridger-Teton that’s the last day she could have been alive
We don't really know that for sure... supposedly there's a witness to them in Ashton around 10pm on the 27th. But the witness could be unreliable.

Yeah it's likely a mistake on one end but it's a pretty big one considering those are a crucial 4 days.

I think Slo meant that it is strange that different people are reporting different things regarding what her mom is saying was the last text she received from her.

The family is saying that the 8/30 text was not from her so the speculation is the last communication was 8/27
I don’t know how you claim such a thing legally speaking in terms of a warrant

So if she said that was the last text she got from that phone, what about the no service text on the 30th?
I'm pretty sure that she sent the Yosemite text to her uncle on the 30th. I mean, Brian did.

The family is now saying the 8/27 text wasn't from her.
*Downvote if you want. It was in the damn link posted on the previous page.

Yeah even if we assume 100% that her body was found in that area, that doesn't mean they couldn't (1) come back to it after the 27th and him kill her or (2) him kill her somewhere else and move the body.
I'll say him moving the body (in that van at least) is very unlikely given the search warrants. I'd imagine they'd have more forensic information and it wouldn't be a simple exigent situation due to mental issues like the warrant says.

The only confusion is in this thread. The text was sent to her uncle on the 30th, not her mom. No contradiction there.

The warrant/mom say the 8/27 text wasn't from her, either.

Did the idiot boyfriend go on Instagram live yesterday by accident and was on a boat?
Posted on 9/20/21 at 5:06 pm to SlowFlowPro
So how do we explain her mom saying the last text she got was on the 27th? Would that warrant have been “processed” or whatever you call it before the 30th but signed off two weeks later?

LINK
quote:
The last text message sent from Gabby Petito's cellphone to her mother warned that the now-missing woman did not have cell service in California's Yosemite National Park.
But Petito's mom says she doesn't believe her daughter sent the message, a lawyer for the family told Insider Wednesday.
"No service in Yosemite," read the last text from Petito's phone to her mom, Nichole Schmidt, on August 30, attorney Richard Stafford confirmed.

It was processed the day it was written. This warrant (the one posted) was actually a follow up to a prior warrant to search the vehicle.
This warrant was specific to search that particular external hard drive. I imagine, and could be wrong, it has video/pics and they're going to use the metadata to place her.
