So he pushed her while they were fighting? As she was scratching him up? Or he pushed her away when she tried to take the wheel? (Which the cop then asks if she stepped on the accelerator too - lol)

I don’t understand what you’re trying to say.

Sorry the "Cadaver dogs are amazing!" conversation got derailed by facts about cadaver dogs.

Those creeks are full of rocks.

There may be a shallow sand bar here and there, but mostly alluvial rock.

Chances she was just dropped right where the van was and floated down to where it is presumed she was found?

Is there that type of flow at this time?

Gotcha.

Was wondering if he possibly did the killing, took off on a couple day hike intending to return back to the van after her body was found. He had his alibi that he was off on a hike for a couple days and then they had to prove different.

He didn't realize her body would go so long without being found and when he got back he didn't have a plan B so just left.

How deep would you have to bury a body to mask the decomposition stank?

8’ or deeper. Need a backhoe or a lot of time and energy if you’re gonna dig a hole that deep
By hand. Cadaver dog may sniff it out depending on soil conditions and environmental conditions. 10’a12’ deep and you should be good.

Not much flow at all if any this time of year.

Most of those creeks depend on snowmelt from the mountains. There is still some seepage out of the mountains of snow melt water that was absorbed by the mountain at a higher elevation and seeps out at a lower elevation but this time of year absent a heavy rainfall and flash flood type event there’s not much water in those creeks. Area is almost a high desert. Snowfall keeps it alive.

There was snow flurries in Jackson Hole this afternoon.

I'm not seeing any major holes in this theory. The only thing I can think of is if he didn't try to burry the body then it should have been found sooner (depending on how remote it was) and if he did burry the body then he wouldn't have been shocked that it was still unfound.

I doubt that a twenty something would appreciate the dynamics of a braided stream.

For whatever it's worth, streams have an erosive side and the opposite side which is depositional. The deposits are usually silt and sand and well graded = easy to excavate and refill.

My example was talking about finding an actual dead missing body out in the woods. Like in this case.
So as long as you find the evidence, how you find it is de facto constitutional?

Under what scenario is the search of federal land by a federal law enforcement agent an unlawful search?
