I just wanted a hand with education expenses, now I have to listen to "thank you for your service" for the rest of my life. No good deed goes unpunished. It's your industry's turn now.

Okay engineers.

It’s our turn now.

Pull the plug on all the power systems and telecommunication systems.

Work with the O&G baws to coordinate a proper attack and watch the country go dark.

/sarcasm

This whole thread is silly af. We all need some air.

That’s the premise of medicine but our healthcare system isn’t even remotely setup in this way.

I do not mind the attention they are receiving, especially those in the hot beds. It is stressful and some appreciation is definitely warranted for those that quietly go about their jobs in risky and difficult time for the profession

However, It is terribly annoying when you see some take the time out to type up a 2 page paper on facebook chastising the general public or being condesending towards the surrounding community in hopes to get shares. They are clearly doing it to get shares and nice comments of appreciation from others. The posts are always miopic and reflect only their perspective while ignoring the circumstances of others. And worse than just ignoring the circumstances of others, they are downplaying them as not as significant as their own

Not that I’ve not experienced enough retarded annoying nurses while on clinical, nursing is hard.

That’s why so many burnout on it, why it’s always in demand, and why you rarely see older nurses doing patient care unless they’re NPs.

guarantee you when school resumes there will be some FB stuff about nurses having done their part and now teachers are doing theirs, accepting the daunting task of having to catch kids up on the 2 months of crucial schooling they missed

Most definitely.

I can see the memes now....

Some tired beaten down looking nurse/Dr with the captions “you did your part” or “you kept a us going”

Then a teacher in front of a bunch of happy kids “now it’s time for us to do ours”

Hell they will probably go as far as to say “we wanted to help but were told to stay home...now we can join the fight” or some bullshite.

I've been a nurse for 19 years. It's not as hard as we'd like people to think it is.

Critical care right now. In the past, PCU, pediatrics and for 8 years whatever the Army decided they wanted me to do including outpatient clinics.

ETA: What kind of clinicals? Are you a physician?

Agreed.

I feel the same way about my military service. There is absolutely no need to thank me for what I do. I ride a desk when I'm on shore and sit in front of a console when I'm at sea. I do what I chose to do and what I was trained to do.

There is absolutely no need to hold up military servicemen and women for a life that we willing chose. If you knew how much of a drain we really were on the taxpayers, you'd throw shite at us like they did to soldiers returning home from Vietnam.
