Unpopular Opinion: Harry Potter is one of the greatest stories ever told

I’m not saying they are the best movies or anything, but it’s very hard to be that creative for 7 books in a row.

I would have to go with Encyclopedia Brown.

Normal Opinion : It's a fun series of books, well written and much better than most. And it will entertain many generations of children in the future as they have already in the past, but the story itself isn't wildly original or ground-breaking in any way.

Star Wars, ASOIaF, LoTR, BSG are all better stories over multiple books / movies to name a few.

It’s third rate commercial fiction.
It isn’t high literature and will never be treated as such.
It has no themes or philosophical insights, yet there are plenty of classic children’s books that do
Wind in the willows, chronicles of narnia, Tom brown’s school days, the just so stories, swallows and Amazons

The prison library didn’t have Harry Potter?

Actually, it was all Harlequin romance novels.
And I did read them.

The young future sorcerers are just like any other budding Britons, only more so, sports and food being primary preoccupations. (Sex barely enters into Rowling's cosmos, at least in the first volume.)
This incredible critic is complaining that there’s no sex in a story about an 11-year old

Never read Potter, don’t intend to.

The movies were casted perfectly at first, Daniel Radcliffe and Rupert Grint looked like their characters the whole way.
Unfortunately and fortunately Emma Watson decided she wanted to be hot
