You poor people don't have the best fried chicken that you can buy at a restaurant. Gus' fried chicken is the best you can buy.

If you've never had it, you just don't understand.

Correct. But different owners.

Someone bought the one in Patterson and tried to open The Rockin Rooster.

That didn’t work out

I never got the hype over The Chance. Last time I took my family there, we were served soft drinks in barely chilled cans and the kids' food was clearly the stuff from Walmart we'd toss in the oven at home.

You are absolutely correct. Leaders puts them to shame. However, the staff all seem to have been beaten down by life. You’ll find more joy at a funeral service.

Apparently if you fry chicken with bones in it your life sucks, but if you fry boneless chicken all day your life is incredible.

Popeyes has better chicken. I really like leaders, usually stop at the gonzales one when I’m driving between New Orleans and BR. I think leaders chicken is dry compared to Popeyes but their rice dressing and onion rings are so good I go there.

Plus I can eat inside leaders, but this closing at 2pm bs is annoying.

Hoodie, are you old enough to remember Danny's Fried Chicken in D'Ville?

Didn’t spend much time in Dville. I’m in my 40’s.

I’ve been sayin this forever. Anyone that thinks Popeyes Chicken is good has never had good fried chicken.

Gus's World Famous Fried Chicken is the best that I've ever had by a nice margin. I've never tried blue store, but have tried all the others mentioned in this thread. They are all solid suggestions, but Gus's is the best. The chicken tastes like cracklin is the best way I can describe it.

Gus’s FTW

When in BR I get Chicken Shack over Popeyes. I prefer the wet batter.

Isn't there a Leaders in Gonzales too? I seem to remember one on Burnside.

How is that Popeyes in Port Vincent? I've always passed by but never stopped.

They rebuilt around the corner on cornerview.

Uncle Albert's in Boyce off I-49 had great fried chicken. I read it closed earlier this year. The owner retired, but will sell the place and all the recipes. Someone buy it so we can stop there when in the area. Thanks
