Sounds like your problem. I don't have a cop at the end of my driveway on busy arse HWY 22 every morning to let me out.

If this is allowed without any standards and oversight from the state or parish it sets a bad precedence. There are many subdivisions in places like Zachary and Ascension Parish that have access issues during peak hours. What happens if every HOA decides to hire an hourly cop to stop traffic?

Is it true that Ponamski escorts O from his U Club house to his football operations office every morning in one of these...

City parish encourages developers to work together. Most developments it is not feasible to have more than one entrance. If it were not for a development on Bluebonnet, UC would not have any other egress options. There is still an "if" another exit is built. If so its still another 5 yrs away.

Then don't approve the development without sufficient egress.

Make the developers work in unison do that we have more of a grid system.

I see cops letting school traffic in and out at Parkview, church traffic at Healing Place and the big church in Infustriplex. I'm sure this is common.

Is a subdivision situation much different?

Have several co-workers who live in there. They all said it is a privilege for you to stop and watch them leave every morning as a reminder of what you should aspire to be. You're welcome.

I just dont get why an off duty cop, or anyone, has the right to stop cars anywhere.

I get stopping out of courtesy, but it being against the law is different.

Instead of building some sort of effective light system, they just pay some off duty cop to stop traffic illegally.

Louisiana leadership in full force.

LA 30 should be 4 lanes all the way to I10 now

this is key. They should have widened the road before they ever built UC or the hood to the North of it. And if development next to the casino goes thru, traffic will really be fricked.

But I'm confidant officials will let all the development come first then address infrastructure. Cause, you know, its always easier to make the improvements AFTER all the neighborhoods are built.

Will U Club be a part of St. George? I would imagine they could fix this issue. Why not a 3 way traffic light with functional light 6-8 am and 4-6pm and flashing yellow during all other times?

Many LSU professors live over there.

honestly, they don't need another light on 30. a turn/merge lane coming out of UC and a middle turning lane on 30 to egress the hood would work. I thinking its only and issue at peak traffic times, so another light would just be another hindrance to cars traveling on 30. Airline Hwy from EBR to ASC is clogged with lights.

And no, I don't have confidence that they would sync them properly.

I do wonder the rules on this. Most funeral details are off duty and they stop traffic and people obey.

It's called off duty because they are not on regular shift.

They are still working under the authority of their agency.

It’s still a waste of time and money even if it’s not illegal. They claim to be so broke but have money for this nonsense.

Why do you care about the residents money and the officer's time?

Who is broke? The residents?

They are the ones paying for it....not the agency.
