I guess I'm one of the few people that this helps

I fly down to our beach house 4-5 times a year and don't bring any luggage because I just leave clothes there. I also regularly do day trips, or overnighters, for work where I just bring a small bag that can fit under the seat.

I always fly United for work. For two reasons. I don't personally pay bag fees since it's the company dime, and assigned seats compared to southwest. Screw United. I'm buying my own plane.

They aren't the only ones
United routinely finishes last in any type of consumer reports ranking, and this will make it only worse.

I like it. I don't get why it became accepted practice you could basically carry on bags that should be checked.

And to spite that, their customer service is complete shite. It's like they don't even care. Their product is terrible and they don't put much effort into damage control.

Good. Poor people shouldn't fly, they should take a bus or a train and stay the frick out of my way.

I would be happy to pay it if it meant less people cramming stuff up there. Easier to get on and off.

I agree. It is mind numbing watching people with carry-ons stuffed and about to burst open cram them up there.

Spirit recently overthrew United in terms of who has the shittiest customer satisfaction and obviously United wants their title back, so of course they do some Spirit type stuff.

So this is only if you select their dirt cheap fare option?

What does that even mean? Isn't there only 3 options? First Class, Business class, and everybody else on the plane? First Class is a grand and business is about $500? It's not like people are going out of their way to select a "dirt cheap" fare. It is JUST first class or "the price"?

frick United!

I can see how this upsets many people. I hate to chech bags Bc I know there's a good possibility that my bag goes missing and screws up my entire trip.
