If you don't have a shot at a free upgrade, legacy airlines are worthless.
Might as well pay $20 for Frontier one way and then pay extra for the add-ons, or if with family fly Southwest.

I hate to chech bags Bc I know there's a good possibility that my bag goes missing and screws up my entire trip.
You know there are something like 1,500 bags go missing each year out of some 300+ Million that get transported?

United, American, Delta however only rely on their legacy status and FF programs.
Which at this point amazes me. When you fly 75k miles a year with one airline and still don't frequently get a 'free' upgrade, then is it really worth spending all that extra money to try and chase that status? I used to love Delta's program back when the economy sucked, but it's gotten waaaaay too crowded and you're now lucky to get an 'upgrade' to economy comfort. I just don't see why I'm paying premium at this point...
Would rather suck it up on Frontier at 1/4th or even 1/5th the cost...take a nap and you're at your destination.

Good move by United.
But I still hate United.
Delta is the best

I'm Gold on Delta. I've sat in an exit row, EC, or First for every single flight I've taken this year. So a Platinum not getting an UG to EC is just false.

Yep. I only check a bag if I'm going skiing or traveling with wine.
F*ck checking a bag.

At 75k a year, you should be getting upgrades to F, not EC, unless you're flying out of an airport that requires a connection everywhere. (in fact, you would get EC automatically w/ as 'little' as gold, no upgrade required, until recently.) How Delta turned EC into an upgrade is laughable itself...You get a free drink and a little more room, yay.
The only time I get upgraded to F now is on a weekend or holiday. It's gone waaaay downhill since when I first started flying a lot...I miss the good ole days of exploitable mileage runs
