it's a proposal. of course they're going to aim high.

You gotta be reasonable though. The health insurance plan was probably the point where the Starbucks lawyers said “frick this” and went to go get a beer

So far, employees have voted to unionize at 274 stores, or 3% of Starbucks' 9,000 company-owned U.S. locations, according to the labor board.

Howard Schultz and Jeff Bezos sure do love to beat that democrat drum but boy when it comes to unions, they get full Maoist real quick.

$20 an hr is not unreasonable when fast food places start at $14-15/hr now a days. As consumers we all have a choice to pay market prices for fast food or shite coffee (Starbucks). My local coffee places are higher quality for same price point so I choose to spend my money there when I want to splurge on coffee.

The health insurance and 37 hrs a week is the unreasonable part.

Is making a cup of coffee more challenging than making a Big Mac? Does it require a skill level the fry cook doesn’t have?

You can get one here for about an hours’ new Starbucks wage.

Yes. Making a good cup of coffee is not only component. Starbucks deals with a different consumer than MacDonalds. In theory, customer service is required for the higher end clientele at Starbucks. A fry cook does not have nor needs to have that skill.

Just automate

At this point they could. They've had coffee kiosks for years that make the coffee based on what you select.

there is no difference between terrorists and union workers. it's a form of economic terrorism that is just as destructive. lock them up for life.

No offense to anybody but if anyone is complaining about the Starbucks workers in this thread while also claining to be a Trump fan, I am sorry, but you don't know or understand what Trumpism is (friendly to the common working man not the elite corporations) nor what Populism is (ditto).

Donald Trump should walk the picket line with the workers and complain about "Elite Woke Corporate Bosses pushing coprorate gay love mandates while not helping their employees when they get sick".

I find it surprising you don't get this. If you are a fan of Trump or DeSantis you should be on the workers side here.
