We were told forehead ok, but not face. Do you have to get a whooping cough vacc too (we didn’t).

RSV and Flu can be spread via saliva

And people hold a baby a few inches from their faces and baby talk at it spitting saliva. Did you guys put the baby in a bubble ball leaving the hospital so it wouldn’t get contaminated?

We asked anyone who was coming to see the baby in the first couple of weeks to get a tdap booster if they hadn't gotten one recently. I don't think that's extreme.

That’s very insane! I assume you had no visitors?

The fact that we have kept these infections under control for so long has made y’all pretty much retarded.

If you knew what a newborn with whooping cough looked like, you wouldn’t dismiss it that quickly.

I can’t wait for you guys to start pushing for honey under 1 so we can start seeing botulism more frequently.

Nah you just live on a different planet apparently to ask your friends and family to go to the doctor to get a booster before seeing a newborn. Don’t immunizations weaken the immune system after receiving them for a short period? So essentially you’re creating a problem that was never there.

No. We weren’t asked. I have only heard of folks being asked within past couple of years.

No.

Where do yall get this stupidity from?

Or they can wait until after the newborn period.

Again, these practices have existed for DECADES and the infant mortality rate has declined substantially, yet you think we are doing everything the wrong way.

That is insanity.

You can go to any pharmacy and get one for free. I mentioned what it was for to the pharmacist and it seemed like the most routine thing in the world for him. I wasn't aware this was some big ask

their not entitled to see the baby

the trip to CVS is less of a hastle than a baby with whooping cough(not new born thankfully), i have had experience with both

If these guys actually saw what a baby with whooping cough looked like, they wouldn’t act so damn flippant about it.
