It's too hot & in South LA for undershirts

The Soffe brand undershirts on Amazon are fantastic. Thin & cool, breathable, and still functions like a undershirt should. They cost a little more (made in USA
), but definitely worth checking out.
NOTE: They run large so order a size smaller than you normally would.

I backed off them for a few years, but I wear one almost every day now, unless I’m wearing a t-shirt (like from a bar, or concert, or whatever).
But part of the reason is I discovered these 32 Below undershirts. They are like a fin mesh and so comfortable and cool (temp).
They came from Costco, but I order all kinds of shite from them now. Their polos are like $12, and don’t have any brand logos on them. I like their pants as well, but the undergarments are the home run.

All of my friends still do it and really makes no sense to me. It defeats the purpose of a dry fit shirt to keep one cool. There are now non-staining deodorants out there.

I still wear them. It gives a nice smooth fit to any shirt and also I always felt like it does a good job of regulating heat and sweat in the summer and added warmth in the winter.

Yes I always wear them every day under dress/polo shirts. It catches the sweat and in most (but not all) cases you can use the shirt again before washing. Nothing more disgusting than armpit sweat on a dress shirt during a hot summer day. Stinks too. It also prevents your nipples from poking out of your shirt, which is disgusting if a man is out of shape.
Perhaps a reason you don't see people wearing them is because of the trend of wearing V Necks, and also deep V necks. TASC has some kick arse V necks.
People still wear them.

I concur, the tshirts, boxer briefs and socks are great. I need to get some other stuff from them.

I’m pretty sure Soffe made the “issue” green under shirts we wore under our BDU uniforms. They were amazing as I remember them.
I may order some.

Ring spun cotton white Tshirt, its way more comfortable then what I have to wear for work. Not working, usually not.

It usually depends on the cost of my shirt. If I'm wearing a $20 shirt and not going anywhere fancy, no I don't have an undershirt on.
If I have on $125 dress shirt, yes, I have on an undershirt to prevent sweat and deodorant stains.

Yes. I wear sleeveless dri fit under shirts. I've always done it and my old arse will never stop.

I no longer do the white crew neck tshirts under polos or dress shirts, but I do wear white v-neck tshirts under dress shirts. Now wearing that white v-neck alone—frick that, I ain’t trying to be Salt Bae.

It was a thing back in the day. Most of us who did that didn't want to stain the arm pits on the "good" t-shirt.
I stopped wearing undershirts with pretty much every type of shirt no matter the occasion once I went to aluminum free deodorant.
Regular deodorant + sweat plays havoc on the armpits of shirts. Crunchy armpits on shirts

I still do. Not typically under T-shirts though and probably 50% of the time it's a v-neck.
Posted on 12/10/24 at 11:10 pm to sidewalkside
I do. I'm civilized.

I run hot and sweat profusely, so I wear one if the sweat will be unappealing or appear inappropriate (professional setting). Otherwise, just feel comfortable!

Not since highschool.
I have embraced letting the chest hair flow and you can either like it or love it.
