The Ms Gulf Coast is pretty underrated place to live. Lots to do and you can jump on I10 and get to a lot of places pretty quickly

Chattanooga and Ashvulle are both cool places also.

Canyon Lake and New Braunfels Tx are also nice

For good reason. Anything east of the Rockies sucks.

I'm sure it's already been mentioned but how about Delcambre.

Not too big, but not too small. I'm an avid runner/outdoors guy so that's preferred. And a big fan of an awesome local food scene. Would be nice to be somewhere that sports are tied into the culture as well.

The Motherlode area of California. Superior outdoors, maybe good on food, not sure about sports scene.

Another good location is the central east, like Virginia or North Carolina. Some nice mountain areas, again food is OK, but probably better sports scene.

Jackson, MS is a great and happening place for someone in their late 20s and it's still undiscovered. Get in before it becomes the next New Orleans.

You definitely can't call Asheville underrated. That place has been blown up for years.

I'd say Mobile.

Bars don't have a required last call. Stores can sell anytime except between 2 am Sunday morning until noonish. Incredible seafood. A good, solid Mardi Gras. Close to the beaches. Low cost of living. Good blue collar jobs. Plenty of safe areas around the city. Beautiful architecture and trees around the city.

I'm sure I could keep going.

Chattanooga would be worth a look. It's definitely on the up and up IMO.

I wouldn't say it's necessarily underrated though. It's been ranked in numerous publications as one of the most desirable cities to live in the South.

In 2010 they set up a city-wide network with the fastest internet in the US ( NYTimes), which at the time was 1-gig. Now they provide 10-gig, which matches the top speed provided anywhere. A lot of businesses started moving to Chattanooga and as a result, a lot of young people with advanced degrees in technology also started moving there.

Most of the people I graduated with at Knoxville had zero desire to stay in Knoxville. A lot of them tried to find work in Chattanooga, or in the general area, so they could live in Chattanooga.
