That’s why it’s a harsh reality. When you die that’s it.

Scruffy would want to be at his peak physicality and mental abilities with the ability to not die from any illness or injury.

But the caveat would be that Scruffy could die when he chose to.

Kinda like Hob Gadling from the Sandman comics.

"The only reason people die, is because everyone does it. You all just go along with it. It's rubbish, death. It's stupid. I don't want anything to do with it."

As long as I was able to take my own life when I was finally tired of all the robots and atomic winter.

I don’t get trapped, i.e. life in prison, trapped in a ship in the bottom of the ocean, or like the first comment said float through space forever.

Consider that you are going to watch everyone you have ever known die. That to me would be the curse of immortality.

lol.... I used to have an uncle that said he wasn't afraid of dying, it was the actual act of dying that scared the shite out of him.

Without death, life would largely lose its value. No thanks.

I am in my 50’s and remember watching a Twilight Zone back in the 70’s. The devil made a deal with a guy and gave him immortality.
All was good until he accidentally killed ago and the jury gave him life in prison. You just hear the devil laughing in the background.
