Similar theme, if you get to the pump and the nozzle has the trigger latch missing, you can wedge your gas cap in its place so that you don't have to stand there holding the lever the whole time. It would be wise to still stand there in case the auto stop doesn't work but otherwise it's hands free.

Cheap sore throat cure, pour about 1 inch of salt in a glass. Add about 4 to 6 inches of hot water. Stir well and gargle for at least 30 seconds, do not swallow but spit it out. Repeat until glass empty. This will give you 2-3 hours of releif.

EVERY time you go on a cruise ship. Buy these at a drugstore for sea sickness you thought you would never get.
These also work for nausea in chemo, generalized whatever nausea. Vertigo, car sickness. They are generally called seabands. Even wearing just one helps-if needed.

I could have sworn this was common knowledge. It's one of the first things I remember learning from my dad when he started letting me drive a little near the house. Before he would let me drive he had to show me all the instrumentation, how to read them and what each control did.
